Hallelujah，哈利路亚，希伯来语，意为“赞美上帝”。德国作曲家亨德尔曾将“哈利路亚”这一主题用作于1742 年的清唱剧《弥赛亚》中第二幕终曲合唱，整曲洋溢着虔诚和赞美之情，表达了对万能上帝的无限歌颂。在现代西方音乐中，也不乏著名歌者以此为题。在众多或祈祷或赞颂的哈利路亚声中，以Leonard Cohen，加拿大著名诗人/作家/歌手，在1984年的专辑《Various Positions》中那首最为著名：Cohen的这首歌曾在资深作家和编辑所评出的加拿大25首经典歌曲中位于榜首；从1984年歌曲发表以来，据统计共有157种翻唱版本，在众多翻唱中更是群星云集，如Bob Dylan，Bono（U2乐队主唱），John Cale（前Velvet Underground 地下丝绒成员）, Jeff Buckley，K.D.Lang, , Willie Nelson，Sheryl Crow，Rufus Wainwright，Kathryn Williams，Damien Rice，Bon Jovi，Allison Crowe；另外，《Hallelujah》还被翻唱成西班牙语、丹麦语、加泰罗尼亚语等欧洲语言。
众多版本里，我最喜欢的还是老男人的原版，不紧不慢，悠悠荡荡，满嗓子里都是对现世的悲悯和对被误解的宽容和讪笑。（《Hallelujah》自1984年发表以来供有三个不同版本出现，分别是录音室版，现场版和全球巡演版。）
